End of August Party in the Pool !!!!
Canoe NewsOr an end of August Party in the Poo (just for you Number Two)

You are Invited !!!!!! To a sit around the backyard deck, jump in the pool and get wet, stuff your face with Burgers and Hot Dogs, End of August Party.

When is it ?, you ask. Well, duh, it's and "End of August" party so I guess it is probably at the end of August. Sunday, August 31st from about 3:00pm on to be exact.

Where is it?, you ask. It's at my house.

Well, just where the h%ll is that?, you calmly inquire. It is at 4828 Hedges Avenue in KC MO with a zipcode of 64133 attached to it. (I assume you know how to google map an address by now. If not, come by and I'll show you). My home phone is 816-358-6152 and my cell is 816-516-0002 so if you should get lost or something we can talk you on in.

I will have some hamburgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers, veggie dogs and some cheap Walmart pop to drink. If you want something else, please feel free to bring it along. As always, please feel free to contribute Chips, Dips, munchies, crunchies and of course, cash is always acceptable.

So, that is This SUNDAY, AUGUST 31st at 3:00pm. Be there or be Square ;p

One thing I forgot to mention:

We always have a shortage of chairs at these things. Right now, I have 8 usable canvas folding chairs (although a heavyset person may be able to make several of them unusable pretty quickly, they are getting old and threadbare to say the least) and I have the 4 pool chairs (which are also wearing quickly).

So, if you want to be guaranteed a place to put your fat ass down then bring a folding canvas chair if you have one.

Hope you all can make it

Canoe 2008 - Information
Canoe NewsI have the camp reserved from June 4th to June 8th. But it sounds like they are going to be REAL BUSY that weekend, they have run out of canoes and she is working with Creekside to get more... She told me that some one called and asked for 30 canoes on the 7th. So... I asked for our old camp site when we were still in the camp grounds and she told me that the camp is pretty tore up which I saw when I was there. So she is going to get things ready for us when we get there.

As for a Map I will get one to anyone that request it... Everything is the same except for the NEW 71 hwy. You will have to get off on the "Pineville" exit at the top of the hill and take that to the business 71 hwy, which is the road we are use to come in on...

If you have any questions let me know... Please EMAIL them to me and not post them on the site, I am not getting notified when someone posts for some reason so send an EMAIL to canoemaster@canocentral.net to make sure I get your question before we go... Or you can call me...

Canoe Trip 2008
Canoe NewsI have a Poll I need answered really quick... Like Now!

It was asked of me to maybe find a different Campsite due to the issues we had last year. I think that we are avoiding the biggest one by going one week early and not having to deal with the Flame Girls... I do know for the most part what to expect at Tilden, but there are/was other things like problems getting us up river, and overall issues since she did not have the couple running the camp anymore..

With that said I did track down (With Allen's Help) the place that we always put in the canoes upstream. It's called Creekside Camp. I did talk with them and there are Showers, Bathrooms and a Store, they offer creekside tent camping and canoeing. And it appears that it is a husband and wife running it. Costs are $6 per person per night for camping, kids under 12 are free, and canoes are $35 each. All of this is about equal to Camp Tilden..

The 2 main draw backs I see with this site is:
1) Canoeing - They offer both Up and down Stream, the up stream is not always usable, depends on water conditions. The Downstream we would get out at either Camp Tilden or further down stream. The problem with the Downstream is that we have to be ALL TOGETHER at take out... And since we have people that like to hang back or Drink to much TEA and have to be taxied back to camp everyone will have to wait at the end to get shuttled back to camp.
2) There is only one way in and out of there Camp. And if everyone remembers that is crossing a low water bridge, so if it rains this could become an issue.

Thats it... I just need to hurry and call back one or the other and set it up for the trip... Please Vote ASAP...

Thanks
